Sriwijaya State Polytechnic in preparing for the establishment of the Applied Master Program in Renewable Energy Engineering had one more technical assistant, Edwin Friedel Rocker, from Germany SES with expertise in the field of biogas and biodiesel. The assistance was from 23 February to 24 March 2016. The participants were lecturers in Chemical Engineering Department, Candidate Lecturers of Applied Master Program in Renewable Energy Engineering and lecturers of related studies.
The activities during the assistance among other were public lecture on Biomass energy includes biomass energy conversion applied in Germany and a visit to the Biogas Plant in Sukawinatan Garbage Collection and Disposal Site. The second activity was for observing the process of production of biogas from city garbage and its power generator. The third activity was workshop in the field of biogas and biodiesel. This activity resulted in a biogas tool design with a digester system incorporated two control systems and biodiesel tool design by esterification and transesterification process.
These activities were expected to upgraded lecturers’ competence in the field of biogas and biodiesel and get academic activities master programs of applied renewable engineering ready.
