On this day at the education house, a symbolic handover of scholarship assistance from Lippo Group was held to outstanding students at the Sriwijaya Palembang State Polytechnic (POLSRI) amounting to Rp 150 million. This assistance is an aid that is given regularly every year in the amount of Rp. 1.5 billion to 10 State Universities (PTN) throughout Indonesia which are received by different PTNs each year. For 2016, POLSRI became one of the recipients of scholarship assistance for outstanding students from the Lippo Group.
“Education funding assistance is a form of Lippo Group’s commitment to the development of Indonesian human resources in all aspects of life. We believe that reliable Indonesian human resources will make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of the people and the progress of the nation in general,” said Dr. Mochtar Riady, Chairman & Founder of Lippo Group.
According to Lippo Group’s Senior Advisor, Prof. Dr. Didik J. Rachbini, BMB is given to outstanding students, especially those from economically disadvantaged family backgrounds, in the amount of Rp. 150 million annually/each PTN, for 10 different PTN. The criteria for BMB recipient students are submitted to the Rector/Director of each PTN because they are the ones who best understand the achievements of their students.
In the presentation of “Aid for Outstanding Students (BMB) Lippo Group 2016” at the POLSRI Education Graha, from the Lippo Group it was handed over directly by the Lippo Group Senior Advisor Prof. Dr. Educate J. Rachbini to students symbolically.
Director of POLSRI, Dr. Ing. Ahmad Taqwa, M.T., hopes that this assistance will continue to be rolled out by the Lippogroup for outstanding students because with the provision of scholarships like this every student will continue to study to improve their achievements.
The symbolic handover of “Aid for Outstanding Students” worth Rp. 1.5 billion to 10 universities receiving assistance was carried out some time ago by the President of Lippo Group Theo L. Sambuaga to the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasir.
The 10 state universities whose students received the 2016 Lippo Group BMB are Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Palembang, Batam State Polytechnic, Sebelas Maret State University, Surakarta, Yogyakarta State University, Jember State University, Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Samarinda State Polytechnic, West Sulawesi State University, Majene , Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic, Makassar and Timor University, North Central Timor, NTT.
In his speech at that time, the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasir expressed his appreciation to the Lippo Group which has consistently contributed to building the world of education, research, and technology. This concern is a manifestation of the spirit and principle of gotong royong in a joint effort with the community and the business sector to respond to the challenges faced by the Indonesian people, in particular improving the quality of higher education, research, and technology.
With today’s submission of LG BMB, 60 state universities throughout Indonesia have received assistance aimed at improving the quality of education, said Prof. Dr. Didik J. Rachbini.
