Polsri Collaborated with China Vocational Colleges on China – Indonesia TVET

In the 2023 China – ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum, which was held in China on September 15 2023, Sriwijaya State Polytechnic (Polsri) signed several cooperation programs with universities in China. The China-Indonesia cooperation program was initiated and opened directly by the Minister of Education of the Republic of China, namely H.E. Mr Chen Jie, who carried the theme Building Jointly a Platform for Gathering and Integrating Education and Production and Sharing Fruits of Vocational Education Development.

Then the next activities were carried out online and offline, managed by Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College, China (LVTC) which was the host, with the program theme “China – Indonesia Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) – Innovative Development Forum on Industry – Education Integration”.

In the implementation of the China – Indonesia TVET program, it was opened directly by Mr. Liu Zilin as Secretary of the LVTC Party Committee, then followed by Ahmad Saufi as Director of Vocational and Higher Education at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, he said “A total of 61 vocational colleges from China, 49 vocational colleges from Indonesia, and a total of 18 entrepreneurs both countries are collaborators in this program.” The hope is that this cooperation program can strengthen relations between Indonesia and China, as well as provide great benefits for all parties in the implementation process.

This was followed by remarks from An Yan as Deputy General Secretary of the China Education Association for International Exchange, Sun Guoyou as Deputy Director of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and remarks from Wu Yindeng as Senior Director of Human Resources from LiuGong Machinery. The event continued with the ceremonial opening of China – Indonesia TVET, which was opened by pressing a digital button by representatives of each vocational college from both Indonesia and China.

Then it was continued with giving awards to the alliance chairman units from each vocational education represented by Mr. Ahmad Taqwa as a Director of the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, the Chairman of LVTC and PT. LiuGong Machinery Indonesia. After giving awards, the signing of cooperation between Chinese Colleges and Indonesian Polytechnics continued for each of the fields agreed upon in the China – Indonesia TVET program, namely; Mechatronics, Automation and International Business Management, then the fields of Machine Manufacturing, Information Technology, Energy Renewables, Management Accounting, Building Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, and in the fields of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
