The socialization activity of Shan Dong University of Science and Technology (SDUST) at the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic (Polsri) building, on 24 May 2024 was warmly welcomed by the Director of the Polsri, namely Dr. Ing Ahmad Taqwa, M.T. The socialization was held for 2 hours, starting at 08.00 WIB with the opening singing of the national anthems of China and the national anthems of Indonesia. In carrying out this activity, the Director of Polsri started the event by giving a sling in the form of a songket cloth with traditional Palembang city motifs as a sign of appreciation and welcome to the guest and presenter from SDUST.
In this activity the guests who attended from SDUST were represented by the Prof/Director of the Department of Academic Affairs namely Mr. QIAO Weiguo, Party Secretary of the College of Electronic Information and Engineering namely Mr. Xu Lingping, Prof/Dean of Computer Science and Engineering namely Mr. Liang Yongquan, Prof/Deputy Dean of College of Chemical and Biological Engineering namely Mr. Li Lin, and the Assistant Dean of the College of International Exchange namely Mr. Li Qingjian or known as Mr. henry.
In the opening of the socialization event, it was opened with welcome speech from the Director of Polsri, then followed by opening speech delivered by Mr. Xu Lingping in Chinese translated by Mr. Henry in English. In his opening speech Mr. Xu representing SDUST also expressed his gratitude for the welcome given by the host, He hopes this activity can be a good start for carrying out the cooperation program that has been agreed between Polsri and SDUST.
Furthermore in the main activity of socialization which was delivered by Mr. Henry, in his exposure Mr. Henry explained that the main promotion program is 2 + 2 years of learning which will be carried out specifically for Polsri students and introduces SDUST to all of the participants in hall. Mr. Henry said many graduates from Indonesia had studied at SDUST. Currently, SDUST is opening opportunities for Polytechnics in Indonesia to pursue joint degree education with a quota of 30 students. The implementation of student selection is carried out internally by each Polytechnic which will send students to SDUST. Besides that, Mr. Henry also conveyed about the double degree offer in their program and the benefits students get while studying at SDUST. Meanwhile, SDUST also opened a 6-month summer camp program that students and lecturers could participate in for Chinese language study program. After the delivery of material by Mr. Henry, question and answer session was held for participants who attended both offline and online in this socialization activity.
The socialization activity ended with the distribution of souvenirs from Polsri to SDUST, and from SDUST to Polsri which were handed over directly by the Director of Polsri accompanied by Deputy Director III for Student Affairs and Deputy Director IV for Cooperation. Furthermore, a group photo was held by all the participants who attended at the activity.
After the socialization event in the hall ended, a visit was made to the laboratories at Polsri, including laboratories in the Electrical and Telecommunications department such as electronics, mechatronics and multimedia laboratories then a subsequent visit to laboratories in the civil engineering department. During their visit, the SDUST team also took the time to give discussion sessions to students who were studying in the laboratory.
