Intermediate technology is a kind of technology developed to meet social, politic, and economic condition and engineering aspect as the solution to solve problem of society (Schumacher, 1965). The development, application and utilization of intermediate technology will improve economic condition of people. Intermediate technology along with natural and human resources is the main pillar in the development of rural economic that based itself on the people empowerment.
State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya which has technological capability plays important role in helping people to solve problems related to economic, environment and etc.
For participating in South Sumatera Intermediate Technology Exhibition Year 2015, Polsri exhibited its intermediate technology to public. This exhibition was run by Empowerment Agency for Rural People and Government from March 31 to April 2, 2015 in parking lot of IBA University Palembang.
The intermediate technologies exhibited by Polsri among others are Thermal and Catalytic Cracking Reactor Reactor Unit, Plate Dryer, Peeler, Cassava Slicer, Fingertip Pulse Oximetry using Microcontroller Atmega 8583, Voltage Controller for lighting using wireless Microcontroller Atmega 16.
